The Knack at Michael's
I've been looking, like we all have, for fun ways to keep my kids busy this summer. Here is one thing I found rather cute. We really enjoy doing crafts, so this site was perfect. It is The Knack at Michael's craft stores. They have loads on online craft ideas, and once a month there is a free (usually) craft workshop for kids.

Summer Zippin' Fun
I've seen this place featured on one of the local news stations before and it looks like a ton of fun! It's a little bit further north than Gainesville - but well worth the trip I'm sure. It's obviously not for the little ones, but could be a fun date or activity with the older kiddos.

Cabbage Patch Kids Grand Opening Celebration
I know I've posted about this place before, but they have finally moved into their new location and have a full day of events planned to help celebrate. The museum is located in Cleveland, GA. I still remember visiting the hospital as a kid - I LOVED my cabbage patch doll and was so excited to see one be born. Seems a little cheesy now, but still a fun memory nonetheless.
Anyway click here for all the details including the schedule for Saturday, May 8.

Library Story Time
We have been going Tuesday mornings to the Toco Hills Library for story time and my kids are loving it. We go each week and it starts at 10:30am and goes to 11:00am. They read stories and sing songs. It is for kids aged 3-5, but younger siblings are welcome too. Just thought I'd invite anyone interested in going.
You can check out other libraries events here.

Tucker Days
For those of you living in or near Tucker, every May they have an annual festival with a parade on Main Street. Our boys love parades and this is a fun, traditional, very kid friendly parade and festival. After the parade, Main Street remains closed and there are lots of different booths to explore and activities to do.
Last year, the fire department brought their big ladder truck and let the kids explore it. We also were able to explore the fire safety house and an ambulance. So if you are looking for a kid-friendly environment, this definitely tops the list!

Thanksgiving Traditions
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week! That's nuts. I am trying to think of some fun things to do to celebrate with the kids. And I wanted to pick your brains again for ideas. Each year we celebrate at my sister's house. They came up with a really fun idea about 5 years ago to do a Turkey Shoot. All the dads dress up like Turkeys and all the kids shoot them with paintball guns. It is a really funny tradition, that we love. We've been doing that for a while now and I was wondering if there is something new we could try. Does anyone have some fun crafts, traditions, or ideas to share?
